Greetings from The Bronx
Greetings from The Bronx is a classically-styled original work illustrated by

City Island
City Island is a 1.5 by 0.5 mile island east of the Bronx mainland. It has long
been a center of maritime life in New York City and continues to be a vibrant
nautical community, with yacht clubs, sailing schools, marinas, fishing and
lobster boats. City Island currently has a population of approximately
5,000 people.

The Hub
The Hub area of the South Bronx, located at the crossroads of East 149th
Street, Willis Avenue, Melrose Avenue and Third Avenue, is the borough's
transportation center. While the Hearn's department store closed its doors
generations ago (the faded "Hearn's" sign is still visible in this photo), The
Hub remains a commercial and retail fixture of the borough.

Bronx County Courthouse
The Bronx County Courthouse is located on the southern part of the GRand
Concourse. Built in 1933, it has served as the home of the county District
Attorney, the Bronx Borough President, and even as the seat of the New
York City government for three days during Fiorello LaGuardia’s mayoralty.
The Bronx County Courthouse was designated a New York City landmark in
1996 and today serves as the location of the Bronx Supreme Court.

The Harlem River
The Harlem River flows eight miles between the East River and
the Hudson River, separating The Bronx from the borough of
Manhattan. In the early twentieth century, the Harlem River's
path was redirected, leaving the Manhattan neighborhood of
Marble Hill connected by land to The Bronx. The River's banks
are now home to the Columbia University crew team’s boathouse
and the River itself serves as the team's home course.
